Nipson to showcase new DIGIFlex at Grafitalia 2009
Belfort, France, March 16, 2009: Nipson SAS (‘Nipson’) announced today that its distributor, Atlantic Zeiser, will be participating at this year’s edition of Grafitalia. A new feature of the show is Digitvision@Grafitalia, an area dedicated to exhibitors displaying cutting-edge digital technology. On display will be the DIGIFlex, Nipson’s recently launched solution for high-quality, cost-effective black & white variable data production printing.
“With the DIGIFlex we offer customers an extremely versatile solution and the applications we will be demonstrating will amply illustrate this,” says Nipson Marketing Communications Manager Martine Berger, “It is ideally suited for printing on demand, transactional and direct mail type documents, security, label, and identification applications or complex barcodes. At the show we will be printing plastic cards as well as a sophisticated transactional application.”
Setting new standards
Launched in February at the Hunkeler innovationdays 2009, the DIGIFlex sets new standards in terms of quality, flexibility and cost-effective productivity. Built on the solid foundations of the VaryPress 200, the DIGIFlex still has all the trademark features and merits of its predecessor, combining Nipson’s proprietary magnetography and cool xenon flash fusing, and featuring variable speed control. However, it has been re-engineered and improved throughout and equipped with multiple upgrades such as a modified paper cleaning station and a redesigned engine cooling unit. In addition, its casing has been revamped to match Nipson’s new corporate identity - striking red and grey, symbolic of the company’s fresh start under the ownership of Creacorp NV, a private Belgian company that acquired a majority stake in October 2008.
Speed + uptime = productivity
Web-fed, the DIGIFlex prints at a top speed of 104 meters (342 ft) per minute, or 1,400 pages per minute two-up in duplex mode, while its rugged design ensures maximum uptime for 24/7 operation. Nipson’s unique variable speed feature allows manual or automatic adjustment of the printing speed to synchronize with the dataflow rate and the finishing equipment. Unnecessary starts and stops are avoided, thereby reducing waste and ensuring truly cost-effective continuous production.
Unmatched flexibility
Nipson’s proprietary cool xenon flash fusing process fuses the toner without heating and the operator-controlled variable speed features allows adjusting the printing speed depending on the substrate used. As a result the DIGIFlex is capable of handling an unmatched range of materials including coated and uncoated paper, labels, plastics, polyesters, foils and other thermal sensitive stocks with weights ranging from 40 gsm to 300 gsm. It can print on web widths up to 520 mm (20.5”), offering a 468.5 mm (18.45”) imaging width, which allows 2-up A4 and 3-up A5 printing, opening up a whole new range of applications. The DIGIFlex can be used in multiple configurations, Simplex, Single Engine Duplex or Twin Engine Duplex, adding to its versatility.
Impeccable quality
With a resolution of 600 dpi it allows printing pin-sharp line art and text, accurate barcodes and minute details such as micro text and other security features. Nipson toner being magnetic it is MICR capable by default, which means normal and MICR documents can be combined without any toner change.
The DIGIFlex in action
The basic model, offering a maximum printing speed of 81.6 m/min, is ready for immediate shipment, while the high speed option achieving a printing speed of 104 m/min will be available starting July 2009.
Grafitalia 2009 will be held at the Fiera Milano exhibition complex in
Rho (Milan, Italy). From Tuesday March, 24 until Saturday March, 28, visitors can see the new DIGIFlex in action at booth G01 H02 in Hall 14.
