French Ministry of Finance orders third VaryPress
Nipson confirms position as technology leader

Belfort, France, January 7, 2010: Nipson SAS (‘Nipson’) announced today that the French Ministry of Finance (Direction Générale des Finances Publiques françaises) has confirmed its order for an integrated production line built around two VaryPress 500s. The Ministry of Finance already successfully operates two similar lines. This order fits in with the Ministry’s strategy to further develop the printing operations at its new site in Meyzieu (near Lyon).

Controlled by Nipson PrintServer, the monochrome VaryPress 500 duplex system is complemented by a third party solution allowing the double-sided printing of two additional colors – red and blue. The configuration also features a camera control system as well as a dynamic perforator. Like the other lines, the new line will be used to print administrative documents and check-letters.

The performance and reliability of the Nipson presses were key to the development of this innovative and comprehensive solution that meets the Ministry’s requirements. The integrated production line was designed and implemented in collaboration with several partners and Nipson’s integration capabilities and project management skills have substantially contributed to the Ministry’s choice.

Featuring Nipson’s proprietary dry toner magnetography and variable speed control, the Nipson VaryPress 500 is ideally suited to deliver maximum uptime for continuous high-quality high-speed production in the most demanding print production environments. Indeed, dry toner magnetography outperforms any other dry toner technology, combining superior image quality and process stability. The Nipson VaryPress 500 is the fastest press on the market. It prints 2000 A4 pages per minute two-up in duplex mode, allowing the Ministry of Finance to produce more than 25 million pages per month. Another decisive factor in the Ministry’s choice was the cool xenon flash fusing process which fuses the toner without heating the substrate. Because shrinkage, warping or other deformations are thus avoided, the finishing process is much easier, which adds to overall productivity and performance.

“This deal is another important step in our relationship with the French Ministry,” says Loïc Dufeil, Managing Director at 2J Printing Services-Nipson, Nipson’s French subsidiary, “We are certainly proud of, and grateful for, their continued confidence. Their choice is endorsement of Nipson’s outstanding print capabilities and recognition of our commitment to provide clients with value-adding solutions that meet and exceed their requirements. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship.”

Ghislain Segard, President of Nipson SAS: “The past year has been a memorable one, with Nipson achieving a turnaround. Indeed we never lost faith, which is why we have continued to progress. The fact that a client of this caliber continues to put confidence in us means that despite previous difficulties, we have managed to keep our reputation untainted.”
